To ensure the safety and privacy of our contributors, many of the writers on Her Courage to Speak choose to remain anonymous or use pseudonyms. What’s a Period Drive?

We’re placing “donation” boxes around our community, collecting pads, tampons, and liners to donate to women who don’t have easy access to these basic necessities.

Did you know? … Period poverty affects millions of women and girls in America, limiting access to basic menstrual hygiene products, education, and facilities. Many are forced to use unsafe materials or go without, leading to health risks like infections and reproductive harm. For students, the lack of supplies often results in missed school days, impacting their education and confidence. In the workplace, period poverty prevents women from fully participating, furthering economic inequality. Homeless and low-income women face even greater challenges, often choosing between food and menstrual products. This is more than a hygiene issue—it’s a matter of dignity, health, and equality. Together, we can fight period poverty and make menstrual care accessible for all.

Join us in the fight against period poverty by donating menstrual hygiene products to support women and girls in need in our community. Together, we can make a difference.

13.7% of Women ages 15-44 live below the poverty line in FLORIDA. Thats over 500,000 women
